Lace Day 2013:  Thanks to all involved in the Fourth Annual Lace Day.  Congratulations on another successful event.  This year, we introduced 27 newcomers to lacemaking!

As a result of this event, Monica has created a Facebook page for Northern Lights Lacemakers and has included 114 photos for people to view.  It was launched on June 2, 2013.  We are getting “Likes” and comments from a number of people involved in the art of lacemaking.  Thank you Monica!

Save the Date!  Our 7th Annual Fall Retreat will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday Nov. 3 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church.  Optional activities can be developed for “off site” activities Friday pm and Saturday pm.  Details to follow!

Folklorama : Here is your chance to visit the many pavilions that feature lace in some form, either in costumes, demonstrations or displays. We are hoping for an invitation from the Belgian pavilion. There may be an opportunity to demonstrate bobbin lacemaking to the public and perhaps generate some interest in fall classes! It looks like the pavilion will run during Week 2 this August.  View the photo gallery on our blog, some photos were taken one of the years we did demonstrations.

Experience the energy of Folklorama, the largest and longest running multicultural festival of its kind in the world!”  Website: www.folklorama.ca
